Visit Blackpool, so I did

Venture out to Blackpool

Arriving at around 2pm, the first destination was the Grundy Art Gallery.
Randomly placed next to the library of Blackpool sits the little Gallery, on waking in nobody was around (even staff!) so taking full advantage I wandered around.

Just had to!

Some paintings, most of which for sale, I have never really seen pieces for sale in a gallery before?

Very much in the style of Chuck Close, unfortunately not his, still nice though!

Is it a donkey in a tree? A bunny? Or simply just a tree?

After the Gallery, we ventured over to Stanley park, a big park run buy the council

This place was truly stunning, as cold as it was and wet. It was brilliant, this pace in the summer would be even better!

Given a day to create this, me and a good friend teamed up (Team LJ) with Leanne Allen.
Today being the 23rd we finished our design got it printed and mounted ready to present to out Client.
Our own imagery included and also important to say all proceeds go to Wigan and Leigh Hospice!

Vehicle Update

StudioNorth reply!

Hi Jack,

Thanks for your DM in, nice idea and appreciate the hand touch of bringing it in. It's always nice to receive food too!

I like the fact you've introduced yourself and also stroked our ego a bit but personally I'd rather see more of your actual work in something like this. There was only one piece, really you should be aiming to show 5 or 6 strong pieces.

Also don't refer to it as a 'vehicle' - that sounds really pretentious! Call it direct mail, a pack, a box, whatever, just not a vehicle.

Best wishes with your studies,

Steve
My reply back

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply, glad you liked it and really grateful for the constructive criticism.

Really, I would like to get to see what occurs in an agency. If there are any days in the future this could happen?

In the new year we aiming to do a client brief, if its not too much to ask, would it be possible for you be able to supply me with one?

Thanks again, regards

Jack Ramsden

Result!

No worries Jack - couple of briefs attached, let me know how you get on.
Steve

So I got my client brief, not only one, but TWO. Brilliant, I'll be set for new year with plenty to work on, some good news there then.

Vehicle Update

Email update

Today I tried to catch up with the selected Agencies I am trying to get as contacts.
I have Emailed both Avocado and StudioNorth at around dinner time hoping there was time for me.
My Emails went :

Dear Avocado
My name is Jack Ramsden, i'm from Wigan school for the Arts. I recently came to the studio (Friday 4th) and dropped a 'vehicle' off. I handed it in and had a brief chat on what it was. I'm just emailing to see what was thought of the vehicle and the little gift that came with it?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Regards
Jack Ramsden

And

Dear Simon, Studio North
My name is Jack Ramsden, i'm from Wigan school for the Arts. I recently came into the studio (Friday 4th) and dropped a 'vehicle' off. I believe I handed it to Michael Di Paola and had a brief chat on what it was. I'm just emailing to see what was thought of the vehicle and the little gift that came with it?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Regards
Jack Ramsden

Within Five minutes...

Hello Jack,

Firstly l must apologias for for acknowledging your presentation pack and small gift, last week was a very busy week for me and time just flew.

Due to current commitments l have not had time to look at your presentation in detail and so l cannot give you a helpful reply.

I will however take the time to look at your presentation in due course and get back to you.

Thank you for your time and initiative.

Kind regards
Bob

Manchester Art Gallery

We do things differently here!

Outside the Gallery itself

On first view, bloke dangling, something like David Blaine right there, hope those wires hold

Michael Craig Martin, quite the sight, looks belting

I love simple images like this, a panorama view done in a simple brush technique

Saw the outfit, had to go for it!

Overall well worth it, its hard not to be when free though isn't it.
Have a look for yourself sometime.

Imperial War Museum North

Keep Calm and Read On!

The aim from this day was to gain information
about war time posters to help with one
of my projects, for tutor Lee Paton.

View from bridge leading to the Lowry Gallery

Wow! An actual piece from the Twin Towers

First sight when walking into the Museum, quite intimidating over my noggin, swiftly moved on

I felt the day was a success to be honest, full of research and stuffed with photography, I only added a few photos from the day, don't wanna go overloading it now do I.
P.s. Get yourself there, it's free! No excuse.
